KrattWorks

Krattworks has added 4G/LTE radio and machine vision module on board of the drones. This enables them to detect the location of the fire without human input, display it on a map while the drone is still in the air and create a rapid situational awareness for fire fighters.

Ad-hoc landing zone extension kit for cargo drone networks

Phoenix-Wings proposes a product that provides exact landing coordinates while ensuring safe operation close to an ad-hoc delivery site. Our concept comprises two easy to operate devices which are handed out to emergency responder teams, allowing them to quickly establish a drone landing zone.

VALAQ Inigne.?Fire Reignition Detection System

VALAQ Inigne is a VTOL fix wing with long range and flying time specifically designed for minimising fire reignitions during a fire extinction management by an advance command post. VALAQ Inigne launches ball sensors to the ground to get from them many ground and surface air levels like Co2, humidity, temperature, air pressure, oxigen among others. All sensors levels are sent to the drone in which all data will be processed with thermal images taken by an onboard IR camera. VALAQ Inigne will then send all information to an advance command post to be shown in what we call fire reignition probability map. A valuable strategic information to distribute ground forces in order to optimise efforts and resources during a fire extinction.

SEN-ID

Hardened UAV Remote ID system

SEN-ID is a multi-functional RF detection system, which can be used as a stand-alone module or integrated into existing Senhive UAV detection architecture. SEN-ID is the first cost-effective, European, detection system capable of reading the "electronic license plate" of UAVs. It is already integrated with DJI's & Parrot latest onboard electronic identification systems and compatible with various UTM systems. The high-sensitive SEN-ID receiver allows today to capture these broadcasts up-to 5Km, but also by using MLAT (multilateration) we are able to verify the authenticity of the signal. (compare the GPS broadcast data vs MLAT location). Secondary, due to the accurate Galileo clock-sync we are also able to apply MLAT on other frequencies (detect jamming, spoofing, …). The combination of capturing cooperative beacons, compared with RF spoofing & jamming detection can guarantee a “clean RF airspace” too UAV operators.

Airmobis R5D is a VTOL drone embedding Galileo technology, able to deliver quickly small goods to remote areas.

Improved accessibility, higher speed and ecological aspects of goods transportation are the drivers of our project. Airmobis R5D is a 4kg VTOL cargo drone, which combines delivery speed and capacity, low energy consumption, while following the latest safety requirements of European Regulations for autonomous ight. Keys of a successful service is accurate knowledge of the destination position, dierent for each delivery, and exact drone location at each instant of the mission, and we will rely on the Galileo high accuracy for our operations.

Manna is developing an aviation-grade B2B drone delivery 'as-a-service' platform for “last mile” delivery. The Manna drone fleet - which is autonomous - is operated by Manna directly from the pharmacy, retailer or food outlet and is accessible via API to governments, food tech providers and online food platforms alike in a channel-agnostic manner. Oryx: IoT Long Range Drone

The ORYX is the first long endurance UAV designed to comply with the new European regulations. It has a big cargo bay that is easy to adapt to different payloads and a very long endurance to get the maximum productivity of each flight. With exceptional STOL performances, it can to operate in very short runways. It includes navigation lights for night flying and also ABS brakes to reduce the landing roll. Wings are foldable in less than five minutes for easy transportation. The ORYX comes ready to fly, with all avionics integrated and flight tested at the factory.

5GBeamCheck

Our solution proposes using a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) to perform measurements in the NF (near-field, 5-10 meters) of the MIMO / 5G beamforming AUT (Antenna Under Test). Once this information is obtained, phase reconstruction and post-processing algorithms are applied to compute the antenna parameters, such as FF radiation pattern, antenna surface currents, reception power, or directivity. The computed parameters will also allow the calibration of the AUT.

The piXbrush system is able to use both drones and unmanned ground vehicles in combinational working to create a semi-automated process to assess and maintain road surface markings. The created system is able to scan existing street/road surface markings and signs, and log each marking precise position on a Geographical information system. All gathered markings are converted to pixels. Once the pixels together and their geo-location are digitally recorded, the piXbrush system AI tools will highlight the areas which require to be repainted.

Our drones are targeted to specific jobs like agriculture, mapping, surveying, construction or any other custom area that you need, SmartDrone goal is to offer easy and understandable drones to operate, letting you time to focus on your job, instead of flying the drone. For #myGalileoDrone competition we develop an autonomous VTOL platform which can carry various sensors, but for this particular project we’ll configure it for topography. Using RTK technology enabled by Galileo our drone is precise in navigation and data acquisition and has very high accuracy in measurements and real world applications.

BLIP - Broadcast Location and Identification Platform

Drones have many potential use cases, if they can be integrated safely into the airspace. Unifly's tracking and e-identification product BLIP retrieves the positioning information received coming from up to threeGNSS systems, including Galileo. The tracking data collected, is transmitted every second over the LTE network in real-time to our data platform. Unifly’s UTM platform visualizes the real-time flight tracking of the drones equipped with BLIP tracking devices to the drone pilots and the authorities, such as police, air traffic management and local authorities.

Airobot automates the collection and processing of drone data, making it easy to build new drone applications. The AiroCore is an integrated electronics core designed to turn any drone into a remotely-operated flying robot. The AiroCollect is a scalable cloud solution to process GNSS-enhanced photos through photogrammetry into accurate 2D maps and 3D models and to subsequently easily share them online with all stakeholders.

TF-ATMON

TF-ATMON is a system for performing in-situ atmospheric measurements regardless of the weather conditions. The measuring system consists of a UAV equipped with a set of sensors that can be selected according to customer’s needs and a ground station ensuring its state dependent response during flight. The variety of quantities that can be measured is really diverse from solid particles and radiation to gases or temperature. Thanks to our innovative algorithm working with the Galileo technology, a drone operator instantly sees the measured values so he can adjust the scheduled measurement limits and the UAS will immediately react by changing the flight trajectory. In this way, the overall quality and effectiveness of the whole measurement process is increased.

HIGADI - High Integrity GNSS for Aircraft Drone Inspections

Donecle commercializes a drone-based solution to accelerate and digitalize visual inspection of aircraft. Used by leading airlines around the world, the current drone system is essentially used in closed hangars due to an interlinked regulatory and technological limitation in mastering the “fly-away” risk on airports. The HIGADI project aims to implement novel RTK GNSS technology leveraging Galileo improved precision as a sovereign and independent drone safety module to address this risk and enable outdoor airport operations on a routine basis. This in turn will help improve the overall efficiency of air transport, contributing to passenger safety and on-time departures.

Droniq is working on introducing the first UTM operational in Germany on the market to integrate drones safely and fairly into airspace. In this context, Droniq GmbH has built a Hook-on-Device (HOD), which currently uses GPS for positioning. The device transmits its current GNSS position via LTE to the UAS Traffic Management (UTM) system. The UAS operator receives the position data of his drone via the web and app based UTM tracker. To guarantee the stability of the GNSS signal and precision as well as to create redundancy and decrease dependency on the GPS technology, Droniq prepares a Galileo integration into the Hook-on-Device (“HOD4future”). The usage of Galileo will give access to the high accuracy service, the signal authentication service, the timing service and the public regulated service.

Smart eye - Authentication of vessels by AIS using lightweight UAV with radar

Not only radars, but also Automatic Identication System (AIS), are used in seafaring for navigation and estimation of the environment and traffic. The operation of AIS is based on the transmission of GNSS position, including high precision Galileo positioning, and other information from vessels. By receiving the data from the AIS system, we can see the position of the vessels in a similar way to the radar display. if on a primary radar display a non-transmitting AIS signal vessel is detected, then the helicopter is sent for visual identification of the vessel. The helicopter's flight is costly (depending on the helicopter, the flight time costs from 1500 to 6000 Euro per hour). Mission of helicopters could be entrusted to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Moreover, the primary and secondary radar (receiver of an AIS) as well as means of optical surveillance could be installed on the UAV. Then there would be a significant increase in the operating distance of both primary and secondary radar.

Last-mile logistics is broken: delivery trucks in urban centres are stuck in traffic while polluting the air, while rural areas are losing local stores and access to medical services. COVID-19 has further strained the system; tests take days to reach laboratories, and fast vaccine distribution will be critical to ending the crisis. The benefits of drones only arrive at scale, however, and today’s drones are built around the one-drone-one-operator model – efficient for surveillance or video drones, but not scalable for drone delivery. RigiTech is creating the future of last-mile logistics through electric-powered drone delivery networks powered by cloud-based centralised operation. Our autonomous drone networks transfer lab tests or life-saving medicines between clinics and laboratories without the need for on-the-ground operators.

Home Delivery of Medicines and Urgent Goods

There are several villages in rural areas without access to medicines that are essential to their lives, and the global pandemic also brought other advantages to the use of drones: need to home delivery for patients; delivery without human contact; and urgent deliveries. Connect Robotics is working on fast deliveries using drones. After getting traction from the health sector, it started adapting the drones for the transportation of medicines and blood samples. It is starting regular operation with a pharmacy for deliveries on nursing homes, with authorization of health and aviation authorities (including BVLOS). It is using the precision of Galileo and multi-band GNSS receivers to deliver in confined spaces, and attend more houses.

Increased precision and safety in life-saving drone application

Out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) affects some 275,000 individuals in Europe each year – and survival rates are low, only 10%. Time to treatment is the single most important factor to increase the chance of survival. By deploying a drone system that delivers an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the scene of the cardiac arrest, bystanders are given the ability to initiate life-saving measures while awaiting professional medical care. In the summer of 2020, Everdrone and collaborating parties launched an AED drone service operating in real-world emergency situations. The system is fully integrated with emergency dispatch and reaches some 80,000 residents in the Gothenburg area in Sweden. By integrating the Galileo system with Everdrone’s flight system the service is enhanced with better precision and a higher level of redundancy
